The Governor of Maryland Larry Hogan " Celebrates Africa " On Wednesday, September 20, 2017

Silver Spring, Maryland ( Little Ethiopia )-The Inaugural African Heritage month celebration " Celebrate Africa " is hosted by the Governor’s Commission on African Affairs and the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives. A Gala Night & Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Downtown, Silver Spring, Maryland and the event is by invitation only.

The Special Guests include Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford, Dr. Arikana Chihombori Quao ( African Union Permanent Representative to the United States ) and other distinguished dignitaries.

Festivities include traditional food, guest speakers, cultural presentations, special recognition celebrating community leaders.

The organizers told Little Ethiopia that there will be two other events scheduled  for Saturday September 23, 2017 and the public is welcome .
