Takoma Park, Maryland ( Little Ethiopia ) -The Coffee Couple Tebabu Assefa and Sara Mussie strongly promoted the Ethiopian coffee by introducing it to elected officials of the state of Maryland including the former governor and the 2016 Presidential candidate Martin J. O’Malley and Congressman Jamie Raskin ( MD-08) . The couple organized the Blessed Coffee Inauguration on September 16, 2011 in co-operation with wiygh Old Takoma Business Association that hosted  the first community-based business. The event took place at the Gazebo in Old Town Takoma on September 16, 2011, featuring traditional Ethiopian music and a coffee ceremony.

Mussie and Asseffa are scheduled to brief U.S. Congress On Benefit Corporation For Africa Initiative on September 15, 2015 as one of the first participants in the program in the United States.In a brief statement , Assefa  told Little Ethiopia that Mayor Kate Stewart co-chairs the host committee and added " Mayor Kate who deeply appreciates the cultural vibrancy and the economic engagement of the Ethiopian American community in the greater Takoma Park/Silver Spring and beyond, under her leadership, Amharic is  of the eight languages used to access the Takoma Park City's website. "
